Rear Hub Question

krisv Feb 15, 2013 10:45AM PST

I recently had my rear wheel (roval trail 29 aluminum) off my 2012 Camber Comp warrantied because the hub went bad. The hub on the new wheel looks completely different, and came with different end caps. My Bike shop could not provide any detail on the differences. What can you tell me about this new hub?

I'm not sure what wheel you got... Does it say anything on the rim to where we can identify it?

Roval 29 wheel that comes stock on the camber comp. hub is marked with the following part #: SP-1342 L1

Oh ok... Well, so if the new hub is different, then it's obviously not the stock hub...

What I would do is have your shop call up their warranty rep to see what the new hub is and how it is different from the stock wheels. The shop may not know the differences, but the warranty reps should know.

Hi there Krisv, just on a point of interest I bought a 2013 camber carbon comp all black version, it too has 29" wheels the only point of ID that I can see is ROVAL Control Trail 29 on the rim, on the hub it has SF-1342 L.F. The hub is 12 x142 axled. Did you manage to find anything out at all? I'm looking to swap my 2x10 gearing out to go 1x11 xx1, I seem to be finding it real difficult getting an ID on the hub so that I can buy a replacement xx1 hub

Hi Paul, we are not seeing anything with the part number you provided, but it sounds like you probably have a Specialized HiLo hub. I am not seeing an XX1 freehub for that hub, but your local shop and they can show you your options.
