What are the specs for the DT Axis 2.0 wheel set?

I found the 1.0 specs on your website, but not the 2.0

We actually don't have the specs of that wheelset because it is an OEM wheelset and not available for aftermarket purchase.

Mike,

Unfortunately DT Swiss will not answer the same question and, in fact, says we need to contact you to get the specs.

On a side note, I suspect that Specialized does not put wheels on a bike without bothering to check to see whether it meets some minimum requirements (and confirm that they meet them). Are those available?

What do you mean minimum requirements?

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the continued response.

Since Specialized doesn't appear to know the specs or any other detailed information on the DT Axis 2.0 (strange since it knows enough to post about the 1.0, though), it must have given DT Swiss some guidelines (max. weight? rim width? etc. ... you tell me) as to what it wanted out of the wheels that were going to go on whichever bike they had in mind (in this case the Roubaix Elite Apex) and they must have done some sort of checking to see if DT Swiss is giving them components that meet what they had in mind.

Here's the link on your site for the 1.0 http://www.specialized.com/us/en/ftb/wheels/roval-training/dt-axis-10

I'm currently thinking about buying a Roubaix Sport or Elite Apex and trying to figure out what the differences between the two to see what kind of an upgrade (in any) it is going to the 2.0 from the 1.0.

I found a 2.0 wheel, and everything looks very similar to the 1.0... The only difference that I could find is the depth is 24mm deep instead of 22mm deep. Width (inside to inside) is still 14mm, outer width is 19mm. Hub looks the same, spokes look the same.... I didn't tear it apart to see the internals.

I think it is safe to say the weight limit is the same on these 2.0 wheels as the 1.0. From the looks of it, the wheels really won't be a huge part of the decision.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for checking in to this for me. It is very much appreciated ... including your following through on all of my questions. If they don't keep the specs around, I don't see how you could have done any more than you did.
